07 Jun SAS Stories – Heather Polizzi
Q: What does SAS mean to you?
A: SAS to me means snow community and support for women/girls! My daughters and I have felt a strong personal impact with SAS! Bella, now 19, spent $5 on raffle tickets at her second SAS “ladies day” when she was 14. She didn’t think she would really win anything but sincerely wanted to donate! When Pam called her name she was more than amazed to win a GNU board just her size! Bella continued on to compete in Slopestyle for USASA with the same board!
Just this year at my other job at a dental office in Mukilteo I half mentioned to the ladies I work with about SAS Stevens Ladies Day, not thinking they would really come… They both had not been skiing in years and both of them did come! I was shocked, and now they plan to come to SAS “Ladies Day” at the Summit, so awesome! They seemed more comfortable coming because they knew it was all for women just like them.
Q: What is your favorite part about SAS?
A: Coming back every year seeing the same women/girls and meeting new ones is so rad! Being inspired by Pam’s commitment to all the ladies out there!
